Roman Holiday

So Rome was great too! Lots of History.

The first night we got there, went and dropped out things in the not so awesome hostel,

and went out for a bite to eat. We had some red whine and pasta. Then we went to the room and slept.

The next day, we woke up and went to the Paletine. Its across from the Collusiam. There is SO much history in this one little square, and its all really really beautiful. Here's some pictures:

Then we got hungry, so we went to the Trevi Fountain, and had some lunch in the square. And Gelato!

Then we threw some coins into the fountain, so I'll be going back. Just sayin.

Then we went to the Panthion. It was crazy. Pictures don't really show how awesome it was.

Then we went to the Piazza Navona. We met a lady from Scotland who had a really cute dog, who we played with. As we were talking to the lady, an old quintessential italian man. He kicked the ball for the dog, and proceeded to tell the lady, in italian, that all people in Europe were actually Roman. THEN these two italian twin toddlers started playing with the Dog and with us. This is all at twilight while street performers are playing "I will always love you". THEN a street vendor came and blue bubbles for us. It was the most picturesque thing that has ever happened to me. Here's a picture.

After free pasta from the hostel that night, we played cards with Dan and talked and had fun. I taught every one to play spades!

The next day it rained. A lot. But we went to the coliseum any way. with our new friend who was staying in out room, Dan. It was really cool, and I gave everyone a rubbish tour about how people used to come to it to watch the popular movies of the time. Its crazy though how much it looks like a stadium we use today. Its weird.

Then, in the pouring rain, we went to the Vatican. We stopped in to take a picture, then went straight to the museum.

To see the Sistine Chapel. But you have to walk through the entire thing to get to it. We did it though.

Then we went back to the hostel and had some free pasta and played cards.

Then next morning we got up and checked out of the hostel, then had about 3 hours to waste. We went to this really old aquarium and got a free tour. We saw the original roman wall too, well a bit of it.

Then we had our last meal in Italy, and headed home.

After we got off the plane, we took the train that we were supposed to. Then we got on the tube, and got off at the wrong stop. So we went to a different place where we thought there was a train to Kingston. We were wrong. So then we had to take a bus to the station, then wait on a train, then wait on a bus. It literally took 4 hours. It was NOT fun. but that was about the only NOT fun part of the trip

Sense I've been home:
Sunday, I litterally slept all day, then did some work. Then slept some more.
Monday, I went to class, the to Raquel's, where we had shrimp pasta and attempted to learn the Dance to Fight For this Love by Charylle Cole, which is HUGE here.
Today, I went to class, and came home. I got alot of work done though. And my college of ed application done! It was great!

The end
